JORDAN

Most of the arable land is located on high ground, with the exception of the 39 000 ha in the Jordan Valley and Southern Ghor, representing 50 percent of the irrigated area in Jordan. The area under irrigation in the Jordan Valley is only 15 percent of the cultivated land in the country, but their share in agricultural production accounts for 65 percent of vegetables, 60 percent of the fruit and 10 percent of field crops.

The main vegetables, including tomatoes, eggplant, squash, cucumbers, cabbage, cauliflower and potatoes, are destined for export markets of Saudi Arabia and other Gulf States and to a lesser extent, European countries during the winter . Over the years, the area under fruit trees, especially olive trees increased, while decreased the intended major vegetables, excluding potatoes and watermelons. Wheat and barley are produced under irrigation in the desert south of the Jordan Valley and, in isolated cases, in the valley itself, within a crop rotation cycle.

Idai Nature is present in the Jordanian market since March 2013.
