ldai Nature incorporates Grupo Agrotecnología into Rovensa

Rovensa Group has announced today the acquisition of Grupo Agrotecnología, a company with more than 20 years of experience in the industry. It is focused on the research, development, manufacture and marketing of products for crop protection and nutrition, specialising in biocontrol-oriented microbial technology.

The incorporation of Grupo Agrotecnología to Rovensa’s Biocontrol business unit, together with ldai Nature, Agrichem agro and Even Agro, confirms their objective of leading change in global agriculture through healthy and sustainable solutions for the environment.

Grupo Agrotecnología, founded in 1997 in Orihuela, Alicante, has focused its activity on the manufacture and marketing of solutions for crop nutrition and protection, investing in R&D and registrations at a global level for the development of latest generation biorational products. Currently, it develops its international activity in Europe and Africa from its headquarters in Spain and has its own subsidiaries in Mexico, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Brazil and China.

Carlos Ledó, founder of ldai Nature and COO of Biocontrol at Rovensa Group, stated: ‘We are particularly happy with this third acquisition of the year. We are proud to be able to incorporate Agrotecnología into Rovensa Group. Our values and culture are quite similar to those of the Riquelme family, who will independently lead the company with their team, and will also become an important pillar to achieve our goal of being world leaders in biocontrol.’

On the other hand, Enrique Riquelme, CEO of Grupo Agrotecnología, stated: ‘For Grupo Agrotecnología, it is a great opportunity to be part of the Rovensa group, since joining a solid structure with which we share our vision and values will help us expand our commercial footprint. We believe this integration will provide us with the balance we need to ensure the expansion of our brand and technology. It also offers our professional staff the possibility of continuing to grow within a group willing to compete for world leadership using efficient products with a low environmental impact as tools to facilitate and secure food within an efficient and sustainable agriculture.

Eric van lnnis, CEO of the Rovensa Group: ‘The acquisition of Agrotecnología will bring together two core strengths: Rovensa’s innovative solutions for organic farming based on plant extracts, and Agrotecnología’s vast experience in microbial-based bioinsecticides.’ He adds: ‘Rovensa will continue to explore new opportunities so as to complement organic growth with acquisitions in order to fulfil its mission of feeding the planet with safe and healthy solutions that allow for balanced and sustainable agriculture.’

The Rovensa business group is based on a strategy that provides farmers with integrated solutions to obtain high-quality plant protection products that have a low toxicological profile, precision biostimulants, specialised nutritional products, and natural biological protection products that are harmless to the operator, the consumer, and the environment.
