- Biocontrol Unit sales grow to €50M in a year marked by the global recession due to COVID-19
- EBITDA generated amounts to €15M, almost 50% more than the previous year
Idai Nature has closed its fiscal year with a 30% growth in sales compared to last year, reaching €50M, a figure that is even more relevant due to the socioeconomic situation we are going through because of the global pandemic and the shortage of raw materials.
The Rovensa Group’s Biocontrol Unit, formed by Idai Nature, Agrichem Bio, and Grupo Agrotecnología, has taken advantage of the existing synergies among the three companies to strengthen its position in key global agriculture markets such as Spain and Mexico, as well as in the new countries where they have been introduced.
Other data that shows the state of grace that the Spanish company is going through is marked by the EBITDA generated, which has risen to €15M, representing a growth of almost 50% compared to the previous year, proving that it is possible to grow in a profitable and sustainable way.
It should be noted that the figures of the group’s latest acquisition, the South African company Oro Agri that is currently in the process of being integrated into the group have yet to be added.
Upcoming years
Idai Nature, awarded by the European Commission as Europe’s Most Sustainable Company in 2020, has set an ambitious expansion plan until 2025, in which an investment of more than €40M is foreseen with the aim of exceeding €300M in sales organically, plus the inorganic growth that occurs in this period with the planned acquisitions.
It includes a demanding registration plan focused on complying with the European regulations aligned with the Green Deal and Farm to Fork, as well as incorporating new talents trained to face the challenge of being world leaders in agricultural biocontrol in the coming years, by having more than 300 phytosanitary biocontrol registrations in the world in 2025.
